There are obvious difficulties involved, but overall it sounds like a great idea even if only done by a small group. This is a means to help out your fellow reefers, the environment and save money. One stipulation could be that one of the first frags be donated to the club's monthly auction. This way we could still help the club raise some moolah and people that don't want to be involved could still purchase nice aquacultured frags for cheap.

I have a variety of high end zoas (nuclear greens, purple death, lunar eclipse and others) and Vietnamese mushrooms that I'm propagating and would be willing to donate, as well as, decorative macro-algaes such as halymenia (spelling?).

Pay it forward. I like it. I've already seen similar things going on informally. I have received things for free and then given out frags of it or other things in my tank for free to spread the wealth. And i know lots of others do the same.

I think its a great idea and i will be getting involved with it as things grow in my tank. I picked up some nice frags at the swap so when they grow out ill be doing that with them. It would be great if LIRA members get involved as well within our club membership to start. :)

I also think it's a great idea. Of couse at this juncture, (while my tank is almost barren), I have more to gain however going forward I would be glad to return the favor when I can frag.
