Hi ,
While browsing invertebrates on liveaquaria.com , I saw that it is written almost for every invertebrate ''will not tolerate high level nitrates'' .

my question is : What are considered ''high level nitrates '' ?

Thanks !

I've tested the water at my LFS one time and the nitrates were off the charts, yet, there's so much life going on in those tanks. Some of the soft corals have been there for 12+ years. Go figure.

The idea that inverts are sensitive to nitrate is mostly a myth. They are more sensitive than fish, but that's not saying a whole lot since fish can tolerate at least 150 ppm without harm. A few are more sensitive, but most inverts can tolerate almost half of that.
