high light lps

is there such a think as lps or softie that likes strong lighting? I have a whole new build with a high rock on one side. Maybe I should try my hand as sps on that side?

I would go with an easier SPS coral like Monti, birds nest or something like that. I don't think there are many high light LPS corals out there. At least, that I could find.

Good luck!

Lighting isn't the only factor when choosing corals, nutrient levels and water purity are bigger concerns. Lps like nutrient rich water while sps like it clean and high water movement. The sps recommended above are perfect choices

I have a green/yellow neospongodes pretty much at the top of my tank. Lighting is 4x t5s and 250w mh. It seems to like a lot of light.

My lighting is kessil 360w. I planned on mainly lps and softies because of having the stress of a basically keeping sterile tank (nutrients I mean). Ill try one sps MAYBE. That's why I was hoping there was an lps that liked strong light. I like an active tank so I will have several fish which to me translates into not an ideal situation for sps

I do plan on mounting my lights so that I can adjust height so maybe I just raise the light over the high piece of rock to allow for lps???

Hammers and frogspawns tend to do we'll in higher light. Also hydnophora maybe. I also have a couple psammacoras up near my months under T5s but all montis really aren't as light demanding as acropras.

Not really, Hammers and Frogspawn do best in the sand bed with low flow and at best unobstructed light.

Leathers do well with high light and high flow most lps's do not.

I have Kessil 160s and had to lower my hammer down toward the bottom of my tank because of too much light caused it to close up. I'd think it would be worse with 360s. I have a birds nest that is doing well about 6 inches below the surface and directly below the light.

birdsnest sounds like what I should be looking for. I will have frogspawn too but I already have a spot towards bottom in the middle of tank that I think it will do well in.
