Anthony,
I've read various articles stating that the addition of a high pH solution (i.e. kalkwasser) near the inlet of a protein skimmer can help reduce phosphates. The bicarbonate portion of Randy's 2-part mix should also raise the local pH (correct me if I'm wrong). Currently, my skimmer is fed by the overflow (as per your recommendation). I will be getting a 2-channel doser soon and was wondering...what if I add the 2-part in my overflow? Or possibly just the bicarbonate portion? That would probably be the closest I could get to the skimmer. Maybe I could somehow add the 2-part directly into the skimmer? Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks.
