Today I noticed one of my yellow tail damsels had three white areas in a vertical line behind its left fin. Now from what I'v seen the the white spots are much to large to be ich, I think that maybe he was darting through some small cracks and maybe scratched his side (does that happed?) If it was ich it would not be a huge financial loss to me but I've grown attached to my scooter blenny and would not like to see him become infected. So any ideas? I'll try and get some pics as soon as I find some batteries for my camera.

Was it on the fin or on the fishes body?
Ive had fish scrape themselves before on the rocks.
Usually hippo tangs when they dart in the rock to hide. It's usually on the body.
Ich is white spots on a fish like grains of salt.
When they just scrape themselves it's usually a line of scratches.
I would'nt rush out and get meds which usually do more harm than good but watch the fish closely.
If it is ich they can also scrape themselves on a rock trying to rid themselves of it.
If it's just scratches it should heal in a few days.
