Hole spacing for acrylic tank

I am getting ready to drill my new acrylic display tank (while holding my breath!), and I wanted to know if there were some guidelines for hole spacing. I want to set up a bean animal overflow. My inlet bulkheads are 1" and the return is 3/4" I do not have a reef ready tank, but I do want to plumb it from the bottom rather than the back. I suppose my biggest question is, how far from the edge of the tank, and from one another should the holes for the inlet be spaced? Also, any advice you can give me about the bean animal would be greatly appreciated, as I have one shot at doing this. Already nervous enough about it lol. Thanks to all who offer help.

I have never seen any recommendations for acrylic but I imagine it is more forgiving than glass. Can you just follow the rules for glass? I'm sure that would be safe.

If you check out the thread right below you in the failsafe thread, you will see that uncle posted a pic of just this.

as close to the edge as you wish, it's actually better if it's closer to the edge as the acrylic will be more rigid in these areas.. As far as spacing between holes; try to leave a coupla inches between the holes themselves.

There is no guideline for this as spacing requirements will vary with location of holes, size, quality, acrylic thickness, blah blah blah.. but as stated earlier, if you use similar spacing requirements as glass - should be good to go :)

i would tak einto consideration your overflow box size if it is premade.

i would keep a minimum of an inch for spacing for bulkheads.

i would also keep in mind working on the pvc assembling and if ever need be dismantling
