homasote under an aquarium?

Anyone ever use this (Homasote) under there aquarium instead of pink or blue rigid insulation? Here is the link.

Seeing as the insulation is used for leveling or to help compensate for slight inconsistantcies in floor and stand. The product I'm seeing is all about water resistance, I'd maybe use it on the floor in the tank room and under stand but not to replace the ridgid insulation under tank that will work as a dampening device

homosote is made from recycled newspapers. that would not be my first choice for something that will get wet.

Right recycled newspaper mixed with wax to provide water resistance. They make more than one product some or one called "comfort base" have a cushion quality to them as well as a water resistance. I only have this info from reading the whole site I never used it but I am curious.

i've only used the regular stuff the trade name references, for sound proofing, under drywall. it's definitely not water resistant, but great for deadening sound.

under a tank, closed cell foam works very well. i like the 1/4" thick 2' x 2' interlocking tiles they sell as "fatigue resistent flooring" for work areas or as mats for childrens' play areas.
