I am continuing to have issues with timers... The run for a while then the timers quit working and won't shut the lights off. Sometimes they last a year or two and sometimes they don't work right out of the box. What's the matter... the timer or something else?

Currently, I'm using Interomatic HB8000RCL. It lasted for about a year then quit and I replaced it with a new one and its doing the same thing. I have to turn on/off manually with the button on the timer. I was a coralife timer for a while when I first started this tank, but I problems after a few months.

I use the standard old rotating dial timers for the exact same reason the electronic 1's always seem to fail on me.

I recommend the digital ones if you can find them.

But, about 6 months ago, I upgraded to a controller (AC3).

If you make this switch, you will never go back. It's a good time to get one now too since many are upgrading to the newer model. my $0.02
