Just bought a Nautilis II doser....I have gallons of EVS 2 Part that I got from Andrea...but I was thinking of trying to make my own.....I should just dose kalkwasser.but thats more room for the reactor...its a never ending battle...but you have to love the hobby.....Eric I may get some xenia from ya.......Im going to try for the 3rd time to see if I can get it to grow....looks like your is doing great

Making it would be the best idea if you are not do kalkwasser, but from what I was told overtime it gets expensive for 2 part. I was on your route as well, but to keep track of dosing the amounts, etc sounded like a headache. With kalk (the simple way - no reactor, etc) its just make it and drip it. But hey, if you can get it for a cheaper price then making it... more power to you. Oh yeah, ask Rogger about the calc. chloride, he uses it for his tanks too i believe.

LMK when your tank is nice and ready for that Xenia, maybe this time you will wish it didn't survive. ;)

Im going over to Rogger this morning,,,I will as him about calcium Chloride.....never had to dose with my small tank water test were always in line........But my 75 keeps dropping Calcium

Might be normal... maybe from the LR, coraline algae might be sucking the calcium up. Is that all that is in the new 75?

Bout 125 LR 3" sand bed and my 2 old fish....had these fish since my 1st tank over 2 years ago Clarkii and a Percula Clownfish

You should be able to pick up the Calcium Chloride from your local Pinch a Penny pool supply. Just call around and ask for Dowflake.

If you can get by with just dripping kalk, i would do that, if not, diy 2 part is pretty simple and cheap. You'll also be amazed how much cal/alk that sand bed can suck up as well as when your coraline starts growing....
