Hooking up CA reactor

I picked up a MRS CR-6 from TCR the other day, and have been running it for 3 days doing a leak test. No problems so far. Plan to move it over to my main system tonight. Problem is, I have no PH controller ATM. Having never hooked up a CA reactor previously and without a controller, would you just hold off for a bit until I can pick up a controller? Or just start with a slow bubble rate and adjust up from there.

I personally wouldnt hook it up until I get a ph controller, but thats because Ive not got too much experience with CRs myself.

I do know that someone was running one without but I cant remember who it was. Hopefully they'll chime in and help you out.

I thought the reactor came before the controller :ape:

You can run them with out a controller. The controller primarily is setup as a safety with the awesome idea of digital output readings :)
testing the effluent ph daily would get you close. And if I recall correctly instructions are out there about testing the effluent to dial it in

It wont hurt to run the systems water on it for a while just to re-check for leaks:idea:

No worries man. I am still figuring out which way I want to go with this. A DIY controller, a PH, or a Apex or RK. I may go a different route than the milwaukee. Dunno yet. Enjoy the first days of marriage.
