Hi All,
I got one of these 20" 96w PC lamps from innovative lights. I wired it all up and put it in a housing made out of plastic gutter material from Home Depot. It works fine but it gets HOT (over 175F)! I realize a metal housing and a fan would keep the bulb cooler, and I'll do that if I end up keeping this lamp, but it is still going to heat up the room quite a bit.
Do all PC bulbs of this wattage get so hot? It it just because it is a 20" bulb (i.e. does the bulb sacrifice efficiency for length)?
Thanks,
Jonathan
