I just got a 24 gal ap on tuesday, i have a larger tank also, but this is my upgraded nano, i got so frustrated with JBJ that i gave up on my 12 gal a few months ago and just tossed everything from in there into my 55. But ANYWAYS. I now have the AP and im wondering what the reviews on the saphire skimmer are, i have been reading about them and I just want some opinions. I know that frequent water changes are the best solution for a nano in opposition to a skimmer, but considering it fits in the back, and I travel pretty frequently, it's sounding like a decent solution if it pulls out any sort of skimmate...
and ALSO. i would obviously like a light upgrade, the stock light seems pretty dull... BUT i do not want to buy one of these sunpods until i hear how wonderful they are...any problems? I preordered a Viper from JBJ last year and it was the worst mistake EVER. So im trying to learn my lesson hear and get some real info on this stuff before i buy it.
:)
Thanks guys!

i have a 24g ap i have the sapphire aquatics skimmer and a sunpod 150w hqi. the skimmer works really good and the light is real nice i dont regret buying either of the 2 the skimmer or light.

I got rid of my skimmer after only a week. Pain in the butt with the water level and emptying it.

It worked fine, but not necessary in a nano IMO

I'm thinking of selling or returning my sapphire for my 24AP
Everyone Ive talked to loves theirs, but not me..
Mine does nothing but fill my tank with bubbles, to the point its making me want to sell my tank, and just get a red sea max..
And its loud.. Louder than my fans on my AP..
I can't figure it out.. I just sent sapphire a message to see what my options are..

i agree with the sunpod comments. I upgraded mine from the stock pc lighting and will never regret the money spent. I love the light and the moonlights are sweet also! Great buy IMO

I also have the Sunpod 150 MH on my AP 24 and love it. Would recommend it to anyone. Found it for $199.95 shipped.

As for the sapphire skimmer. Another Junk! I purshased it and well put in the the tank. I had to worry so much about the the water level and with MH's water goes down faster than the stock PC's. To much hassle!

So I ordered the AquaC Remora!!!!

Very happy with the sapphire so far - pulling a decent dry skimmate, and the micro bubbles lasted about 24 hours, haven't had a problem since. I use a litermeter III for auto top off - the only adjustment was topping off a little bit more daily.
