How big is too big ( crab content)

I purchased three tiny emerald crabs around three months ago, now the other two are still reasonable but this one is huge. Now he is a model citizen for now, when should I start questioning his reef safe qualities?

His one claw is around 1"

Yeah, I have one in my mangrove tank that size. I was wondering the same thing when I saw him chilling like a gorilla down by the river.

I watched a tiny emerald snag my bangaii. It was on the smaller side as well.

A good general rule is if it has claws it will use them. Those are some big claws!

I love emerald crabs and have had good luck with my three for a year plus now(knock on wood)

If he gets bad I have a hungry mantis shrimp that will be glad to have him as a tank mate

He hangs out in my Acan garden which makes me very nervous, although he hasn't don't anything yet.

that things a beast! I love crabs but I stay away from them... from what I hear their not very friendly.

I was there on Thursday. Those hippos were the smallest I've ever seen. Maybe a nickel or quarter in length.

I have one fairly close to the same size actually and never had any issues. His molts freak me out since they have color and look the same size haha.
