How difficult is it to buff acrylic?

Looking into buying a large acrylic tank that is currently empty. I've never owned acrylic before so I've never buffed out scratches. I thought this would be a great time to fix any scratches to the tank before setting it up. Is this a difficult process and how does it look once it's finished?

thank you

If you take your time, and do it right, they will usually look 'good as new'!

if you have never owned acrylic before (like me), you will scratch your newly buffed acrylic. But if you have owned acrylic and know all the different things you can do to scratch the tank and be really mindful not to do those things, then an acrylic tank can be a really great tank to own/use.

basically, I'm saying maybe you don't want to buff it if it is not really that bad? or if you do buff it clean, to expect it to be scratched again.

anyway, the time to buff it is while it is empty. once it is filled and you probably will end up leaving any new scratch alone (like the previous owner).

fwiw, my tank has a lot of scratches that don't bother me. I can't see them from a couple feet away. and yes, I buffed it when I got it.

I bought this awesome shallow acrylic tank that needed buffing- waaay too much time for me I ended up selling it =|
