How do I control my blue xenia

I started with a small frag of blue xenia and I admit its pretty but now its everywhere. It shoots off little spores and pops up everywhere.

I tried to frag it as much as possible, but then I have to chip off small chunks of my rocks and I dont want that.

Any way to frag it cleanly or to kill it off in spots?

I heard if I injection it with kalkwasser it will kill it.

Please help

Yup, kalk will work, but it will be very difficult to get it all off.

As an upside, when I upgraded tanks all of my xenia, athelia and blue clove polyps died off. They hated something in the new water perimeters. Other people have similar experiences and report that after years of keeping xenia it suddenly all dies off. Sorry, I don't know the pinpoint reason, but it might give you hope.

some joes juice will kill it off ,just treat it like aptasia but dont kill to many per day as the die off will pollute your tank rapidly so remove what you can . its much easier to remove the rock and cook it

How long do I need to cook it for? 3-4 weeks?

You can cut it with scissors and the frags will live. It will grow back from the base, so I guess that doesn't really help but at least it will slow it down.

well a few days in muriatic acid and water will eliminate all life from it .then you will need to rinse it off quite well .

I agree with above, you can cut it or take a zip tie and slowly tighten it. It will frag off then glue it down and sell it...or thorw it away like I do. Its very nice, it just grows soooo fast

How much for a quarter or half dollar frag of blue xenia shipped to 19139... I think its pretty, can't find it around here...please pm me if you would consider it

This worked for me cause i had the same problem. First i tried cutting it but then it would come up from the base so i stopped that. I found out recentely that if you get small pliers or anything that can grip it without cutting it, that if you grab the stalk of the xenia it pulls off pretty easy and doesnt leave any base.
