How do I get my KH down...It's at 18 right now.

My calcium is at 400
and my PH is at 8.2.

KH is at 18....Isn't that high???

I thought when my calcium and PH are fine then my KH would be stable.

I have been adding Marine Buffer by Seachem and Kent Calcium plus I have been running my Calcium reacter. Why is my KH still high???

OK I just read the bottle for the Marine Buffer and it does raise KH too as well as PH. Is there any product out there that just raises PH? I have been adding this Buffer everyday because my ph is always around 8.0-8.1. I would like it to be at 8.3.

What about is there any product that lowers KH and only KH?

Do I even need to worrie about my KH or PH levels?

Your pH are fine!!! No need to tinker with it. The reason is excess CO2 from Calcium reactor (a side-effect). If you really want to raise pH anyway, you could start dripping kalk.

A Ca reactor will add balanced parts of Kh and Ca. In one article the author said Ca reactors actually act more like Kh reactors with the benifit of adding Ca in balance.

I would make sure the effluent from the Ca reactor went into a high flow area and or an area where there are bubbles to degas the possible excess Co2. Make sure you dont continue adding buffer....and drip Kalk slowly to help counteract your pH issue. Your Ca reactor should take care of both the Ca and Kh demand in your tank.
