how do i get rid of green algae

If its hair algae probably not. The only thing that will slow this stuff down is light reduction. I have been running my actinics only for about a month now. I only turn the 10k's on for about 2 hours maybe 3 times a week. Has slowed the hair algae down and the corals seem to be fine. I only have softies that don't require a ton of light though. Don't think sps would dig this.

i thought that lawnmower blennies ate hair algae. I dont really think this is hair algae, it seems identical to brown algae just with a different color. Could I be feeding my 1 coral too much photoplankton?

it would help if there was a picture. Different herbovoires eat different kind of algae. Some tang speices...kole, chevron, yelllow...eat green algae. I have a hair algae problem, just ordered 60 snails for my 75 and its really getting better. That and an urchin. The urchin can cure a whole rock in a night itself. get a good algae eating cleanup crew. Depending on which species of algae, a foxface, lawnmower blenny, and tangs could help too.
