How do I stop the GURGLE??

Hi everyone! I finally have my new tank filled with water and I'm running just the water pump to mix the salt. My problem is that the drain hose into the sump (1" hose) seems to have air in it and gurgles incessantly. Is there anything I can do to reduce this? I've tried moving the hose around in the hopes that maybe the bubbles will flow out but it hasn't worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Does the hose run straight to the sump with no excess, or does it curl/curve on the way down? That can cause a gurgling or flushing noise.

It's totally curled! Unfortunately, I'm stuck with it that way because of plumbing issues on my (used) sump. Is there any way to get the air out while it's still connected?

If there is, i'm not sure what it is. I don't think it's an air issue as much as a water pressure issue. (the h20 has to go uphill in parts of the tube instead of flowing straight down) Sorry that's not a better answer!

What if I just allowed the drain hose to "hang" into the sump and connected a PVC t-connection to weigh it down and diffuse the water? Does the plumbing all have to be connected to work properly?

That could also work, and if it's going to get rid of all the extra slack and allow a more direct path to the sump then I think it'd be worth it.
