How do you break something with no moving PARTS!!!

I have a K4, and the plug came a little loose, so it studdered a few times and stopped. Now it doesn't turn at all!! What could possibly have happened to it? Is there anyway to fix it? You can't get these things open... can you?

Anyone have this happen? Waste of a K4.... :-(

It opens right up & the impeller comes out. The front cover simply locks on with a slight turn. The impeller shaft sits into the front cover. I'd remove clean & reassemble making sure the shaft sits into the cover properly.

Oh, that part I knew... but there is nothing. No jiggle. No Wiggle. No evidence that there is any magnetic field at all!

Is there a way to open the actually housing up?

The motor is not serviceable. Are you saying the cord is lose at the body of the pump? If this is the case I would reuse it at all. If it is under warranty I would have Hydor replace it. If not I would discard it or I guess you could check with Hydor to see if that can service it or maybe replace it at a discount.

No, the plug came loose at the outlet. Then fell out. But it kicked a few times before it did. I plugged it back in, and it never came on again... I bought it from Ebay, so I guess I have a spare set of magnets... :-(

But I just don't understand what could have failed inside it...

Hmm, I would take it apart (impellar) and soak it in vinegar, or if you have more than one Koralia, switch out the parts between the two. It might just need a good cleaning (muriatic acid for instance).

The thing is very new... There is no signs of use, at all.

I will try swapping the impeller. I am picking up another K3 today, so I will drop it in there first... Its odd that this one is not working, though...

If you can't fix it, send an email to Hydor USA. They had me send one back that was leaking voltage. It was replaced for free. My only cost was about $5.00 to ship it to them. They recieved it on a monday & I had a new one by friday. Very good customer service, IMO.

Hmm... I wonder if they would have the same support... North of the border.

I just tried a new shaft and impeller... no dice.
