How do you light your clwnfish breeding tanks?

I have read a few articles or threads on lighting the fry 24 hours a day. This gives them more time to hunt and feed on food. What do you do?

What do you think of putting the whole grow out system under actinic lights? Maybe the first 30 days under actinic? Has anyone done this?

My motivation is to keep them relaxed and feeding. Without the stress of lights on and off they might be happier?

I have the lights off for the hatch of course, after the next sunrise I turn the lights on and leave them on for 3 days, then I begin a 16D/8N cycle. If some of the larva are still small or if there stomachs haven't completly chaned color I may continue the 24hr light. After they transfer to a grow out tank they go on 14D/10N.

I've never use actinic only on larva but, right now my 20g tank burnt out a balast and i've been lazy so it's been on actinic only for about 3 weeks. The fish don't seem to care but, I think the larva may need extra vit D. so the correct spectrum may be more important for them.
