How do you make a auto top off for your sump?

What do you need to maintain the water level in your sump? How do you make it? I have the concept in my head, but what exact parts do you need? Thanks!

Kent Marine float valve and a connection to your RO unit or a storage container that is higher then your tank is the easiest way to do it.

Depends on how complicated you want to get. You can go with a relay switch that controls a pump in your top off unit with some float switches. When you can get into the search feature here try doing a search on Auto top offs. Lots of plans here.

Cheers!!

If you go with the float switch/relay route, be sure to use two float switches for redundancy. My lower float switch got stuck this morning, but my higher float switch prevented the ATO from overflowing my sump
I'm probably going to convert to the Kent float valve method. Fewer things to go wrong.

I just built mine using a float switch, a aqualifter pump and a timer. The float switch is the backup. Just time the aqualifter to see how long it takes to top off your sump. The flow around 2 gals per hour. I am going to run mine 2 different 1 hr periods since the fill water may be a different temp.

okay I don't have a reservoir and topping off straight from my ro unit. I have a float valve in my sump with an asv on the ro.

Where can I get a float switch and solenoid valve for a backup? I'm in Canada....
