how hard to find black clarki

My LFS has one in but I'm holding off getting it cause I would like another to pair it with.
How hard it is it to come by a black clarki?

From my experience, The Clark's clown juvies are always orange and white then as they mature they shift to Black and White bands. I have 3 Clarks and all 3 were orange and white when i purchased them and all three have turned to Dark black and white .

Its not the best picture, but here is my pair (( have had them for at least 8 years now )) while they aren't black, still are fairly dark. Do get darker with age.

Toddrtrex did your pair ever produced eggs?

About every 3-4 weeks for the last 3+ years. Though, I have never done anything with them.

Here is an older picture of one of them tending to the eggs.

I have had the female lay eggs as well. I never attempted to raise the eggs to fry. One day I may make an attempt at raising them but I know I am not set up for success at this point.

Toddrtrex, have you seen any over aggression from the female? Mine tends a large carpet anenome and is real aggressive to me and the male. (aka bites us both) The only time the male is allowed near the anenome is usually at night. (Female is about double the size of the male)

My male and female are both about the same size (( female perhaps a tiny bit bigger )) There is no aggression b/t the two of them at all. For a while the male would "sleep" in my BTA and the female in my carpet (( haddoni )). A couple of months ago I sold the BTA, they now "sleep" together each night.

As far as aggression towards me, not really, they like to chase my hand as I am removing it --- trying to act tough, but while in there they leave me alone. Towards other fish, a little bit, but nothing major.

Over all my pair are pretty easy going, moving tanks, selling an anemone, or redoing the tank has never had any effect on their spawning.

The one I saw had no orange on the body.
They must lose the orange slowly seeing yours are over eight years old.
BTW its nice to see fish being kept that long in a tank.

If i recall correctly, it was around 10-12 months when I noticed my fish being black and white. Still carries the orange shade on the mouth.
