How I know "live rock" is cured?

Hi guys:
Many interesting threads like always. I'm trying to learn as much as I can. Ok I have another question, I think that your answers and advices(tips) will help many of us "newbies"
How I can be completely sure that the "live rock" that we're going to buy is cured? There are any signs?

I'd say the smell of it.

smell it if it smells nasty its not cured, if it smells like the ocean than ur good

Take it out of the tank rise it with some "fresh" salt water...
If it smells...not cured...

Not sure if you are adding it to your exisiting tank but if you are, I would reccomend throwing it in a bin with a powerhead and heater for a few weeks.

Not worth the risk, this will also allow you to monitor some of the hitchers.

The only sure fire method of knowing is making sure you are testing throughout the curing process. If ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate are all 0 then there is no more die-off and the rock is ready to be used. I would make sure the levels are stable for a week or so.
