How long does Formalin take to evaporate?

I've been treating with Formalin for a couple days. I'd like to switch to Cupramine, but I know the two don't mix.

Can anyone tell me how long I need to wait for the Formalin to dissipate? I've read as little as 12 hours, but I'd like to corroborate that if possible.

I don't think it gases off so much as it reacts with organics. If it does gas off it would be temperature dependant. I know that in high organic loads formalin will actually really on be in circulation for a few hours. I also know that it can stick around for days. Seems like half life is variable unless in controlled sterile environment. I'm pretty confident you can use carbon to pull the formalin.
