How long for a foot to attach?

I just added a red haddoni to my tank and have turned off my Tunze Streams in order to give the haddoni time to attach it's foot in the deep sand bed in a not so turbulent environment. How long should I leave the Tunzes off or should I turn them on a reduced setting right away? Thanks for your help.
