How long should I QT a fish

I have a new anthais and a new goby in QT. I am wondering how long most people would QT these fish. I usually QT for 8 weeks, but when I tell people that they look at me like I am crazy. JUst wondering if I am crazy or not??

Crazy? No. Over cautious....maybe. I think 4 to 6 weeks should be enough. I just set up a new 45 gallon QT a month ago. Never had a QT before. I am going to treat all fish with Prazi Pro and Cupermarine for 3 or 4 weeks. I know that some fish can carry ich in their gills so I would think if you don't treat in the QT with medication then 8 weeks may be better. Lesley

Thanks. The one fish had some flukes so I treated with prazipro and in litterally minutes they fell right off and the fish looks great.
