How long should I stop skimming?

I'm about to treat my entire tank with Prazi-Pro. In the directions here, http://uskoi.com/prazipro.htm it recommends to stop protein skimming. But for how long? Also any other tips will be appreciated.

I would say no skimming for 24-48 hours but that is just my best educated guess. I would assume no skimming for that time period would allow the medication to have enough time to do its job. I dont know the chemical make up of prazi-pro, so I cant give you an exact answer. Hopefully someone who has used this product in the past can chime in and give you more information. I have used prazi-pro before, but was not running a skimmer at the time. I would think that the only reason you would stop skimming and running carbon would be to let the medicine work and not pull it out via mechanical filtration. Hope this helps

Alrighty well I ran my skimmer about 6 hours afterwards. I guess I'll do another water changed and do it again, in 5-7 days.

Prazi-Pro is marketed by Harkari; their tech-support phone # is on the package....Why not just ask them? Almost any good company has good tech-support; IMO, we don't use them often enough.

Good advise. Usually they put you on hold for 30 minutes. lol

Well I guess I need too redo the treatment, they said no skimming for the whole duration of the treatment(5-7 days)...

I'ma do another water change and see how it goes. Kinda sucks I won't be skimming for a week. lol...
