So long as you haven't already received your rock, I would say 24 hours, or so. Give time to let the equipment run, make sure the salt evenly dissolves so you don't have any anomolies, and that kind of thing.
If you already have the rock, you will get more death keeping it out waiting that time then just mixing it up as best as you can and putting it in.
