I got a wave box and dont want water on the floor, how low should I keep the water level in the tank, when the thing is set to max? Its a Perecto 110 tank. Thanks.

wow... not much info there to go on, Bugger.

the general rule of thumb is to keep the water level as low as possible (within reason), while still functioning smoothly (overflows etc).

keep the top of the unit above the surface of the water.

other than that youre kinda on your own... as with everything in this obsession, there are as many scenerios as there are tanks.

keep in mind that some ppl can get 2" waves and some can only get .5" waves...

it all depends on placement, length of tank, and whats in the tank.

when you dial the box in start with the power a little below 50% and when you finally dial in the correct resonance & a pretty wave jumps literally out of nowhere, you will be able to adjust things from there...

you also can "break" the wave very quickly by turning the dial away from the "sweet spot" by a fraction... so if you see the wave form and it looks like its getting huge just dial it off, make whatever adjustments you need & then go for it.

have fun & keep the towels ready ;)

im getting a custom tank made and i had the weir teeth made 2" high. its a big external overflow centered...
DEFINITELY have the overflow CENTERED!!!!!!

i have it running on the tank im replacing & i only have about half an inch from the water surface to the acrylic top (on a 110 gal 4' long) and i get a fine wave... i even have the box submerged and it is still making everything sway from here to mars.

hope this helps,
