Have fun.....

There are 7 girls on a bus

Each girl has 7 backpacks

In each backpack, there are 7 big cats

For every big cat there are 7 little cats

Question: How many legs are there in the bus?

I know the answer but I'm gonna PM it to you so I don't ruin the game.

197 more posts to go! woo hoo!

I got 406... But I just did it quickly with out paper... :)

I probably either shouldn't take this so literally, or I should take it more literally... :rolleyes:

This isn't something that I know the answer too either. It's a brain teaser that when the number is figured out and entered it lets you know if it's correct or not. keep guessing and I'll input the number to see if it's correct.

So far no one has had the correct answer.

9620. :D

(49 mama cats x 7 little cats x 4 legs each x 7 backpacks) + (2x7 little girl legs) + 2 (bus driver legs)

I must be missing something.

Ah, crud. That just figures out the number of kitten legs. I didn't add in the mama cat legs:

7 (girls) x 7 (bags)= 49 bags

49 (bags) x 7 (large cats) = 343

343 (large cats) x 7 (kittens) =2401

343 (large cats) +2401 (kittens) = 2744 (cats & kittens)

2744 (cats & kittens) x 4 (legs/per cat) = 10976 (legs)

7 (girls) x 2 (legs)= 14

10976 (cat legs) + 14 (girl legs) = 10,990 legs on the bus

I still say it is 10,992, though, because 7 little girls wouldn't be alone on a school bus. :D

Here's how my demented mire of a brain saw it... I think I do everything different than others... No reindeer games for me;).

7 little cats per big cat (28 legs per big cat)
Each big cat is responsible for 32 legs (28 from samller cats plus their own 4)
Each backpack holds 7 big cats or 224 legs (32 per big cat *7)
For the seven backpacks, there are 1568 legs (224 legs per backpack *7 backpacks)
Each little girl is responsible for the 1568 legs plus their own two for a total of 1570 legs per girl.
Total legs per 7 girls is 10990 (1570*7).

7x2=14
7x7x7x4=1372
7x7x7x7x4=9604
______________
10990

then you add the bus driver

so 10992

but I don't see how it tells you if you are correct of not :confused:

CEE was the 1st with the correct answer.

The problem doesn't say there's a driver. But, it doesn't say how old the girls are either, so one of them could drive.

the bus could be stopped and the bus driver is off the bus loading the dogs undearneath.

But really... what bus driver would let that many cats on his bus?
