How many Radion Pros would I need?

Doing an 8x3x2.5 (450ish gallon) mixed reef. If I were to go with the Gen3 Pro's, how many would I need, and how would I configure?

The picture shows what I was thinking.....I will say I don't want to feel like I should've done more, but is 8 total overkill?

One other question.....I know the MP 40s say "designed" for tanks up to 3/4 inch thick. This tank will have 1 inch thick acrylic, I like the idea of using 3 MP 40's rather than say 1 MP 60.....Just wondering if it's possible?

Thanks

MP40's won't grab on anything over 3/4" in thickness, on 1" thickness you'll need the MP60's.

Kirk,

The MP40wES is unable to magnetically couple on aquariums thicker then 3/4 of an inch. Additionally, 6 XR30w G3 Pro should provide you with all the light you could need.

Thanks for the response.....same dimensions? Any pics or videos?

Sorry, I forgot last night, but here is a pic as the lights were coming on this AM. Not the best pic, but this tank is visible on two sides so the light from the other room was coming through. But it gives you an idea of the coverage of the 6 radions.

Thank you, how would you recommend setting them? 2 by 2? or all six in a line side by side from one end to the other?

Thanks again....and how do you have yours set up?

I have 4 side by side and have some shadowing [||||]. If I had 6 I would go [===], I have a center brace so I'd probably need 8. That's overkill for a 60x36x27.
