How many sunset montis are there?

I have had two pieces over the years that are basically just orange with green polyps. But I have seen one called "cornbread sunset" and of course the "rainbow sunset montipora". Some seem to have a beautiful purple or blue base among the orange and I am wondering if that is the rainbow or the just different lighting or what? I would love to have that kind of color in my sunset. Do I just not have the right one?

Sounds like a way of selling a starving "sunset monti" under a new name.

With that said, they're all just varying colors of encrusting montiporas, and without knowing the lineage of each frag we get, we're almost always guessing......otherwise you need to look at the coral structure, which is way way way above my pay grade.

Corals will differ tank to tank. In general, its orange and green. The levels of these colors is related to the characteristics of that tank.

So then you are saying my sunset could look like that too? Is the sunset basically the same as the tyree sunset?
