if its just fish only with live rock or what you will see listed as
fowlr tank
it doesnt matter what type of lighting you have. Although if you want to grow coralline algae the pretty purple algae that encrusts onto the rocks and glass you should gow ith at least a dual power compact fixture that is 48 inches long...thats the easiest route.
coralife and current make them....real easy and will make your tank look good with one daylight and one actinic.
I went with a 36" light that is only 2x96 watts... I have plenty of coraline growing on my rocks... I'm very happy with what I have & I only payed $50 bucks for the light from a RC member...

If it is FOWLR, only one or two NO fluorescents is needed. Coralline will still grow quite well under this lighting, so long as calcium is supplied. Nothing else is really necessary.
