I recently purchased 2 clowns and im just curious how much flow is too much? I have a 20g long and they don't seem to be struggling at all? Im just curious do they need a dead spot or something to rest once and a while or are they ok?

they will be fine. if they wanted less flow. they will tuck up in a top corner, or behind some live rock...

They can defiantly handle more flow than you may think. It's strange to come from Freshwater with relatively low flow to saltwater. I used to fear tearing corals/fish apart but realised that I had too little flow.

There's 995GPH movement in my little 30gal (Overkill I know, right?) And my clowns actually swim right in front of my water movers (Circ, Filter, Skimmer) as if they were playing in it, then when they're done they go and sit under the Anemone or a coral and look around, then go back for more. And when they're not playing or sitting somewhere with low flow they're just moving around the tank as if there was no flow at all.

I wouldn't worry too much about the fishies, I'd be more worried about corals and stuff getting enough flow. :)

Mine like to hang out in relatively high flow during the day and then sleep where it's a little calmer, but pretty much slowly wiggle all around the tank at night anyways.

ive never seen them sleeping yet? I turn the lights out at night (controlling outbreaks with 24/7 lights)

But every time I have seen them s far they are up and about??
