How much flow

I have some corals such as a duncan that I have been told like a medium flow and not a high flow. How do I know what is to much or not enough??

I been having this issue for quite some time and im always adjusting to see what works best and what not but how do you really tell?

I have a 29g 30x12x16 with 2 hydor nano 425s, one on each side kinda facing the center of the front glass

If the coral is closing up its too much flow. Ideally you want to find it a place where its happy while keeping your flow as high as possible.

awesome good to know, I adjusted it some more and its not closing at all but its starting to look like it should which is a nice change

My lps seem to like a gentle breeze, like the water is fluffing them up from the bottom. I would call that medium, high being a wind that blows them over to one side or whips them around and low is just sitting there and looking droopy, if that helps.

You might consider spot feeding them once they open if they have been in protest for a while, sometimes they come out hungry

I realized last night that I wasnt feeding them properly.. or at least I dont think so. I was feeding everything coral frenzy and yesterday I tried mysis shrimp, I have never seen them close so hard on something. So lets see with the adjusted flow and proper food what happens. Thanks for the input guys
