How much will the ORA Red Sea mimic blenny go for?

I've seen them for around $60.00 when available. Kudos to ORA for breeding this fish and making it available to the public.

I had one about 8 years ago that I got for about $60. Loved that fish and was my wife's favorite fish. I will get one again and will pay what ever the price is as it was the most personable fish I have ever had. So rare, but now coming around again. again I can't express how much we loved that fish. As soon as I can I will snap one up. Maximus you will fall in love, I guarantee it.

Thanks Buzzword for the info. I'm sure you won't have to wait long as Live Aquaria will get more and post them daily.

Were there two of them? I got one too! Btw, would they feel more comfortable in a barnacle or some type of hiding spot? Due to my rocks (Cerameco Vida rocks) I don't have many hiding spots.

There were two. All the blennies I've kept have hunkered down in barnacles so I'd recommend at least one.

Wow, just received mine now and he is tiny! I thought he would have more meat on him. He's acclimating now so I will release him in 30 min. I wish I had a nano tank to put him in until he grows a bit.

What, no quarantine tank"¦it's ORA but i doubt it was kept in a isolated system at LiveAquaria. Good luck.
Me, i'd only risk it if my lfs got it direct from ORA and gave it to me in its unopened shipping bag as soon as it arrived at the lfs.

Yeah, I'm taking a chance on it. I think I'm going to buy a hang on specimen container at my local Petsmart and put him in there. That way I can track its progress for a few weeks and make sure he is eating.

I want one! Still hung up on how prone they are to jumping having recently lost a ORA black snowflake occi to carpet surfing from the DT! And after having put it thru 14days of QT with straight copper sulfate. It was eating well and healthy. Knew i should've removed the ORA orchid dotty back prior to introducing the little clownfish!!!!

I decided to put him in my overflow chamber for now. Plenty of room as my overflow is external and has a Herbie drain on it. I think I'll leave him there for a few weeks until I feel comfortable that he is eating and gaining weight. I also put a piece of live rock and a piece of pvc for privacy.

Why don't you cover your tank with mesh?

- i like to views coral, clams and fish from the top down. plus i'm to lazy to remove the mesh every time i need to do something in the tank which is more often then not.

Mine is doing really well-eating aggressively, scraping algae, and cruising the tank. It is tiny though. I think I'll give him an extended quarantine too fatten him up before placement in the display tank.
