how often do you feed your tank?

I have a 50 gallon with 3 fish and a cleaner shrimp. I've been feeding 2 small times a day. Just seeing how often everyone else feeds. I've been seeing some good size "poops" on my sand bed. What will eat up this waste as it is quite ugly to see.

I feed 2-3 times per day. I feed a wide variety of foods. Fish Poops are never pretty to us but coral, bristle-worms, pods, other fish, bacteria, hermit crabs etc. think they are pretty tasty.

you feed your 24 gallon 2-3 times a day too? You must have to do water changes pretty often. You have a fuge on there?

No, I usually feed the 24 gal 2X per day. 1st feeding being formula I or II flake and then second feeding being frozen food. No fuge, but a big ball of cheato behind the rock work. I do 5 water changes on that one every week. I change 40 gal on the 210 every week. From my experience fat fish are healthy ich free fish.

my 30 tall is fed 3 times a day 5 to 6 days a week...its in my dads office
in the morning its spiralina flakes...in the after noon its frozen brine...and as my dad leaves another feeding of brine(this is for my nocturnal fish in there)

the filter is a corner overflow with LR rubble and a converted trash can wet dry filter filled with bio balls
i do 10 gal water change almost every week

thanks for all the replys, I guess I'm not overfeeding then. Just got do water changes weekly. I do have a HOb fuge with chaeto tho which should help with the waste removal.

i've seen my nassarius snails eat my tang's waste, cerith are also suppost to eat fish waste but i've never seen my ceriths do it. The bacteria and critters in your live sand should be able to take care of it.

yeah I have nassarius and cerith but the turds just build up. Coral beauty must be eating well. haha

try reduce your feedings to once a day if you see a lot of poop in your tank, your tank might not be able to keep up. a hungry fish is a healthy fish...;) seriously though your fish will not starve if you cut your feeding in half. i fed every second day when i had a HA outbreak for a few months and all the fish were fine

I force my heavily stocked 72 to pick off the rocks by only feeding once a week. Nobody is starving and algae remains under control. Make 'em earn their keep.
