How often or do you feed your anemones

I wanted to know from everyone who owns anemones how often do you feed your anemones or do you feed them at all.

I have 7 anemones in my tank all bubbles ranging from green, rose, and another variance of a green one. I use to feed them once a week for several years but this year I stopped and noticed that growth has been almost the same even after a split. What are your opinions in feeding vs not feeding.

I fed my condy 2-3 times a week when I had it. I did it more for my entertainment than anything. I liked to watch it snag a bit of shrimp and pull it in. I'm sure they react to feeding like coral, for the most part. Feed them a good bit and they'll grow more, feed less and they'll grow less...or the same as w/o feeding. It may take a pretty significant amount of food to keep them going...but I'm just speculating. Don't take it as anything more than that.

If u have fish that r hosting the anemone then u don't have to feed alot because the fish will feed it for u

I almost never fed my rose bubble and they split and grew a lot. I lost them all in a tank crash a few years ago. The bubbles took in fish food as it floated by and the lighting mattered. I feed my carpet every four days or so. If I wait longer it gets too hungry and I worry about it snapping up fish.

I was concerned because I am slowly changing over to dried foods like pellets and didn't know if the anemones would starve. I feed frozen food once a week now with supplements but usually dry food. Is there a way to tell if an anemone is starving?

they'll most likely eat the pellets. My coral readily eat the flake I feed the tank now and again, so I'm sure pellets will be welcomed as well. If you're really worried, toss it a bit of raw shrimp once a week. I'm sure it'll be fine though.

The food my anemones like the most are bits of whole canned clams.

I have never fed mine. I let the clowns do that for me. Never had one starve.

flake food isnt an adequate food for corals nor would i say it is for anemones either. they dont always split when they are happy. when stressed or feeling like it needs to save its self it will split trying to at least give itself a chance of survival

I have 5 anenomes (bubbles, LT, and Sebae) and only one bubble is hosted. They are fed 1-2 times a week with krill or silver slides. I have had anenomes slowly wilt away from lack of feeding.

We have 2 Rose bubbles that I have had for 5+ years we do not spot feed them ever.If they get food out of the tank it is when we feed new life pellets that fall on them or mysis or other meaty foods that end up in them when we feed the fish.
Anemones are like corals in that they contain symbiotic algae that supply them with what they need. As long as the lighting is bright enough.Yes they will take meaty foods in addition to this,but imo they do not have to have this it is just a bonus!
As I have said in the past this is not the gospel just my 2 cents .
