How often should purigen be regenerated?

Not as often as your posts, LOL.....okay, sorry bout that. Not sure, I just threw mine out when I was done with it. Didn't really seem to help my tank much.

I know that my phosphate remover tends to look very yellowish and nasty after while, that's when I change it. Well, when I'm using such products. I tend not to use any additional chemicals in my tank. Not even calcium or alk, my water changes keep water parameters normalized just fine.

When the purigen is "used up" you will probably notice some algae trying to pop up, maybe a little cyno or something. It can leech the substances that it pulls from the water, right back into the water after it reaches it's saturation point. I"m not familiar enough with the product to know much about the regnerating thing, but if it's able to be regenerated over and over, than I would just do it regularly, like weekly or bi-monthly. Better safe than sorry. If you are just refering to how often you should replace it, then I would venture to say at least once a month.
