How often to feed my new gbta?

Hey guys,

I just got a gbta, two and a half days ago, and was wondering how often it is safe to feed it. I want it to grow quickly... Can I feed it small pieces every other day, or even every day? Is this a good combo of foods, as I already have this: krill, shrimp, scallop, squid.

Thanks!

Those are good food choices, and you could add silversides as well. Every other day will give you rapid growth.

One thing to remember if you are going to feed it that often, that you will have to stay on top of the water quality -- a lot of waste will be produced.

Back when I kept BTAs, they were lucky to be fed once or twice a month, and they still grew quite large.

yep, I will make sure to do that. I have a big big ball of chaeto though in my fuge, and I now have a skimmer as well, so it won't be nearly as hard. It's been just over two weeks now since my last water change, and everything is reading 0, with pH at 8.3, and salinity at 1.027 (I know it could be a tad bit lower). I will do a water change on friday. I will feed it small pieces tho, something about the size of a pea, or maybe a bit bigger, but nothing much bigger. I don't think this small amount of food can make water quality decline quickly though, or can it?

Everyone does things differently, but I personally prefer doing weekly water changes --- even if the test show zeros --- can catch an issue before it becomes a problem. Plus, I feel that it keeps the water more consistent. (( case in point, after my back surgery I had to go to every other week for water changes, while the tests showed nothing wrong, the tank didn't look as good )).

Smaller is better with a smaller tank, and it shouldn't effect the water quality. Just make sure that it is eating it all -- and not regurgitating any of it. Odds are small that it will, but just something to watch out for -- especially with a new anemone.
