How Often to feed?

Hello all- I have just recently acquired a 4 inch long Mantis shrimp and I am curious as to how often it should be fed? I have given it a few snails already which it smashed to smitherines and devoured. How many times a week and how much should I be giving this guy to eat?

I feed mine very day, or as often as he feels like eating, which is actuallyl sometimes more than once a day.

Can you afford to feed it every day? Then why not do so? If the carcases are affecting your water parameters you may want to feed less, but I can't see any other reason why your mantis should be dieting (so to speak).

I love watching mine feed, so I feed it a lot.

I usually feed my guy every other day. Usually a large piece of krill or a good sized snail, hermit, or regular frozen shrimp. He seems to be doing fine. I got into this rhythm because I tried to feed him daily, but would not always accept the food. Sometimes he would only partially eat it and kick the rest out of his barnacle. So i guess he trained me well.
