How often to test CA & ALK?

How often do you test your calcium and alkalinity and mag. levels?

It would depend on your consumption level, currently I am testing every other day, on my previous tank I'd test once a week. Once you established a dosing routine you can test less often.

Alk: Once a week at best . Calcium, once every few weeks to a month....

Every day, after I had a crash two years ago. I would test randomly because it was so stable. I started dosing kalk and over a period of time the alk reached 16 dkh, unknown to me, until all my acros started rtning. Very hard lesson to learn.

limewater use can create such high alk numbers? i thought most things balanced out with the addition of limewater? what did you do? switch to 2 part?
