how to attach a yuma to a rock

I've got this yuma that looks like it is going to drop a baby. By it's position it looks like it will just float away. I've put it in a container on the bottom of the tank so I can get it when it drops off. What's the best way you all have found to get it to attach to a piece of rubble or frag disc. Would you superglue it, rubberband it, other ways?
TIA,
Ben

Use a plastic container with a lid, poke some holes through out the thing so water can circulate through it. Fill the container with rocks and put your yuma in there. That way if it were to float off it won't go anywhere but land on the rocks so it would stick to the rock. But make sure the container is clear so its getting light. I wouldn't use super glue or ruberbands, the glue would irratate the yuma and it would more than likly fly off and rubber banding sounds like its going to slice the thing in half. good luck with the yuma

Yea if you get it to attach to some rubble rock you can then glue the piece of rubble to your lr where ever you want it..hth

Thanks. I should try to get a pic of it and post to make sure that is what is going on.

I've tried glueing a yuma before . . . unsuccessful. They excrete too much slime and slide away from the glue. The cup method will work or just keep in a very low/no flow area, so it can attach on it's own.

Thanks for the help KorL.

Still hasn't popped off. Do yumas pop off babies or do they split?

The only time I've had a yuma reproduce, the baby was already attached to the rock right next to mom

I usally let it get attached to anything after they form their own foot then you can glue it to anything you want.

Took me forever to get it to attach. Glue failed again and again.

Finally I put the rock in my QT tank and just left it rest on the rock. If it fell off, I placed it back on. Eventually it settled.
