How to catch a peppermint shrimp???

I was having a hard time with this also.

1. I was suggested the pop bottle trap. For me they kept there feelers on the door so getting out for them was nothing, but I never kept the trap in over night so maybe that works better.

2. Some got there pepps comfortable with hand feedings then scooped them out (i didn't have the patients)

3. One suggested taking most of the water out of the tank for less space for them to run (I was nearing this as a possibility)

4. This worked for me (well 1 of 3 shrimp so far) I took a fish net and put food in it (starve them first :)) then I put it near the bottom, and held on to it by the handle, I pressed one edge up against the glass, so It was like a net door, after they got comfortable going in the net to get the food, slowly (fast doesn't work) slowly close the net door against the glass, then get you hand in there and press all 4 sides of the net against the glass, you can then grab the shrimp in the net and pull the little B#@%^&d out of the tank.

Good Luck!

thanks bri, i tried the bottle trap w/ food, but he didnt' go for it. In fact, he was more inclined to come into a 3" tub i had with food that i was holding. I left the bottle overnight and found nothing, but i also watched for like 20 mins. w/ light off.
