How to catch a Pistol shrimp?

Actually yes! I just caught a red pistol shrimp after much effort. Here's how I did it.
I used a small soda bottle with a small opening and built a standard fish trap. (Cut the top off, invert, tie back inside with fishing line.) I then tied a small piece of shrimp to the bottom of the bottle using more fishing line. I laid the bottle on the bottom of the tank moved into a known exit of the shrimp. I also had a line tied to the top of the bottle so that I could quickly tip upright and pull the bottle out.
Day after day this didn't work. He'd get about half way in and freak out and hide. Then I realized what the problem was, he wasn't in a hole or crevice!
So, I covered the bottle in black garbage back and tied it on with more fishing line. He was in the bottle within 10 minutes and now happily resides in my sump while I find him a new home!

Thanks for the advice, i'll try that trap after I move a colony of Frogspawn(I hope it doesn't scare the shrimp into changing it's burrow). I had thought the old "pop bottle crab trap" trick wouldn't work on a timid pistol, covering it is genius, I am pleasantly surprised.
JoeMomma, I just want to be able to dose interceptor and not kill the poor little guy. The shrimp and it's goby buddy are highly esteemed and i'll just move them to a different tank. I highly recommend them, they are interesting and have their own endearing character. Just make sure your rock is secure and firmly planted.

I have a fire pistol, and watchman goby, bought at same time, but not paired. Have had for 2 or 3 weeks, if the goby is to close to the shrimps hole the pistol will snap at the goby many times, then the goby freaks out swiming at breakneck speeds all over the tank. Will they ever meet up?
