I have several lps corals that I try to feed but the fish snatch the food before they can get it down. I have tried feeding the fish at the same time and feeding at nite( the serpent star and cleaner shrimp dog my every move)
What to do?
I made a set up that I used to feed my sun corals. I cut the bottom half off a 2 liter coke bottle. Used a hot nail and made a hole in the plastic lid to the bottle and siliconed a piece of flexible plastic tubing into the hole with the bottom of the tubing reaching a couple of inches above the coral. I then took some of those clear glass things you put in a vase to hold flowers. I siliconed them to the bottom outside of the bottle to weight it down. I then was able to use a syringe to target feed the coral through the tubing while keeping away the fish. It worked like a charm.
I vowed to never get another cleaner shrimp for that reason. I target feed my corals and he sits on them and it looks like he has a thousand legs trying to dig all the food out from the corals.......I have used my feeding tube to push him away until they have closed up good. Unfortuneately the slower eating ones like my rics never stand a chance.
I have been wanting new (different) fish for years but none of them will kick the bucket for me...
