I have used iodine, coral rx and revive. I usually will dip any new corals before putting them in my tank. I have to say I think I like the Revive the best. I also will dip corals that are not doing well sometimes such as having a receded edge.
Ok thanks T, that makes a lot of sense now that i think about it, haha. I thought I heard someone say one time that they had freshwater dipped there coral, that seems very dangerous?
Great info, is there any other specific dips you can think of for specific corals, or a book that perhaps could teach me a lot about this subject and corals in general>?
bringing this back up. How exactly does one go about Iodine dips. I wanted to do Coral Rx, just dont have it a LFS. And I have frags (should be w/o parasites) but I want to dip as a saftey measure for all incoming corals.
Oh & doest the coral rx and or revive kill or do something that the Iodine doesn't?
Sounds like Iodine will work for LPS & SPS & other softies.
What is the ratio, time to dip & then do you rinse in fresh bucket of tank water?
kind of tagging along here from some info, but what ive done in the past was used lugols solution before adding to my display. after acclimation i put a drop in the bucket, im just getting back into the hobby so im forgetting how long i let them sit in the lugols.
