How to hang lights

With out a canopy what is the best way to hang a couple of halides. I dont want to hang from ceiling, im thinking more like some kind of post or pole that is connected to the canopy. Do you guys have any ideas or suggestions along with places to get the parts. I have wondered around home depot at length but no real ideas yet.

Maybe like a plant hanger on a post...

This is how I hung my Tek light and even bent the EMT pipe in the lowes aisle!!! Super easy and cheap on the wallet !!!:beer:
