Once every three or four weeks I make up a batch of fresh RO/DI in a 45 gallon container. There is a Danner submersible pump in the bottom which feeds a DIY gravity-fed top-off system. When the water level gets down to an inch or two in this container the pump can't draw, so I need to catch it before then and make a new batch.
More often than not I see the water level is getting low and I make a new batch. What I'd really like is to set up an automated monitoring system where, when the water gets down to a certain level (say 5" remaining) I get a text/email reminding me to make more water.
Ideally, this would be done without adding any new penetrations through the container wall.
How do you have your system set up?
