how to move a clam?

ok so i wanna move my clam because my rose is getting very close to it and is about to start stinging it i believe. (thinking of putting it in the other tank)
i know i can't just move it because it has anchored itself there and i might rip its foot and end up killing it. what is the best way? i have heard of squirting cold water at the foot will mayb get it to detach.

I think it sends out hairy fibers that atatch it to the rock, i have taken a scalple and cut its fibers of the rock, cut ahainst the rock and fibers and stay clear of the white mussle.
